SAVE THE DAY

LAST MINUTE VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Typically our evening and weekend volunteer sessions are reserved 3 to 4 weeks in advance, but occasionally due to scheduling or cancellations, we have sessions with space to fill. This is your chance to help us "save the day" and fill our volunteer sessions. For safety and project success, we cannot accept walk-in volunteers BUT you can now Save the Day by registering for one of the opportunities listed below.

*If you would like to schedule a session in the future and guarantee your spot, visit our Group Volunteering or Individual Volunteering pages

WHAT WILL WE DO DURING OUR VOLUNTEER SESSION?

Group volunteer projects change from week to week, but we always have something great and rewarding for you and/or your group to work on, be it labeling packaged products, inspecting and sorting food donations, or repackaging bulk donated products. Regardless, it's always fun and gets thousands of pounds of food out to those who need it.

*Registration closes at 1pm the day prior to our Save the Day opportunities

*All Save the Day volunteer sessions are held at our Shoreline Volunteer Repack Center (1702 NE 150th St).  Directions HERE.

Sign up for a Save the Day session by selecting from the "ticket" options below. All sessions are free. If the ticket is listed as "Sold Out," the session is full. Many sessions are only for 5-10 volunteers and fill up quickly. Check back for cancellations or last minute updates. If is session is listed as N/A, the session is not yet open for registration.

VOLUNTEERING WITH CHILDREN

*For safety reasons, some Save the Day opportunities are reserved for ADULTS ONLY - children will not be allowed to participate at adult only sessions.

All volunteers must be 6 years of age or older and accompanied by an adult if under 16. One adult can accompany several children. However, if you are organizing a group of children to serve, please bring several adults for leadership. We find that a 1:5, adult to child ratio makes a huge difference in the project success and safety.

All children under 18 must bring a signed Parent Permission Form to each session - download the form.

PHYSICAL EXPECTATIONS

Many of our projects include repeated lifting of 30 to 50 lbs and standing on cement floors for the duration of your session. We’ll work to accommodate volunteers when possible, but project selection is dictated by product availability and our partners’ needs at that moment. We do not know project specifics until 24 to 48 hours before your session. If organizing a group, please explain to your volunteer group the physical nature and demands of this event so that they may choose to participate based on their own needs. *Please contact us if you or anyone in your group may need special accommodations.
