Grant Writer/Manager

Food Lifeline is seeking an experienced and entrepreneurial Grant Writer/Manager to lead our grant proposal efforts.  The successful candidate for this exempt position will report to the Director of Development and manages all aspects of the grant program including researching, planning, organizing, supporting grant maker relationships and writing grants that are in keeping with the goals stated in the strategic plan.

The ideal candidate will have a successful track record in securing more than $500,000 a year from grants, a BA degree, 3-5 years experience in grant writing and understanding of current trends, the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment and maintain outcomes and quality, strong written and oral communication skills, and proven initiative.  Additional education or formal training and a knowledge of human service organizations are a plus.

Grocery Rescue Representative

Food Lifeline is seeking a part time Grocery Rescue Representative to support our Grocery Rescue program.  This person will assist in program development and maintenance of Food Lifeline’s Grocery Rescue program, including donor cultivation, appreciation and retention, program growth and development, and program outreach.

Qualifications include:

  • Experience in program maintenance and evaluation.
  • Experience with not-for-profit organizations, OR
  • Sales experience, preferably in the food industry.
  • Ability to work independently while exercising initiative and good judgment, and ability to plan and follow through.
  • An understanding of food safety issues.
  • Ability to work well with a wide variety of people, to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing, and to work collaboratively.
  • Ability to set priorities and manage time effectively.
  • Experience using word processing and data base management software.
  • Personal automobile which can be used on a daily basis for job-related responsibilities.
  • Valid Washington State Driver’s License and food handler’s permit.

 Part Time (30 hours), Non-Exempt

Compensation starts at $12.00/hour depending on experience.

Receptionist

Food Lifeline is seeking an experienced Receptionist to provide exceptional customer service to internal and external customers, processing donations, mail distribution, answering phones, greeting clients and other projects as requested. 

The ideal candidate will have experience with a multi-line phone system, excellent phone skills with an emphasis on serving customers, strong verbal and written communication skills, possess a valid drivers license, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, changing environment.

Salary Range: $25,000 - $29,000 with competitive benefits Package. EOE
